Gary has built this diorama on behalf of the Blackwood & District Historical Society, and it is now set up in our main display area.
It is a beautiful piece of work, taking in mine shafts, ladders, poppet heads, the tools and instruments of the trade, mine portals and mine carts. Together they give a real overview and a feel, on a small scale, for what the goldfields looked like in the late 1800s.
