The Historical Society visited Trentham Primary School to share the rich history of Blackwood and the surrounding district with students. Our volunteers brought along photographs, artefacts, and stories from the gold rush era to help bring local history to life for the next generation.
The students were fascinated to learn about the gold mining heritage of the region and the thousands of people who once called Blackwood home during the height of the gold rush in the 1850s and 1860s.
